What's with the slow beginning?

Yeah I know, it's slow going, but thank you for sticking around for the first 1/3 of the story. I appreciate the feedback more than you can possibly know. Good, bad, ugly, it is all useful to me. This being my first writings, it's inportant to hear feedback. So thank you to those who are going the distance, I thank you and promise you things are starting to heat up.

I have always been a huge believer of backstories, each character's drive and personality due to their pasts. A rich character is more relatable character, at least in my eyes. So for me to portray the middle and end of this story, It's important to me that readers have an investment in these characters. Makes for a more impactful ending. I have been living with these characters for so long that they have almost become real people to me. I cherish each of them and I am excited for everyone to see what is coming next.

So once again thank you for hanging in there, the next 1/3 will have more of everything.
