A Crinkle & The Great Floof

Years ago after the first fall of man, a baby fox would become the leader of a battered world.

With help of course, from a lost family she never knew existed.  Together they would become known as... The Tribe.

A Lost Pup

The Search for Family

A cute baby cub takes her first steps outside the den. Eager to explore and the area and find a hearty meal from mom.  As she searched for her siblings, an uneasy quietness overtakes her. "Mom!" She cries out to no answer. Walking turns to trotting, then to running hysterically calling out to anyone who would answer. There would be no answer.

The air is still and getting colder. What is a pup to do without her mom or family? She  nibbles on some leaves because the hunger is becoming stronger in her tiny belly. She watches the birds in the tress fight over a worm, hoping it falls for a tasty treat. A loud squawk  rings in her ears and the worm falls to the ground by her feet.

As she looks to snag the treat fro herself, she calls out to the birds, "I have it under my paw! It won't getaway if you come for it quickly." The birds happily fly down to their lost meal. Thank you they say as they fly away. Foxy could not bring herself to take what was not hers.

Just then a voice from behind the rock face calls out, "Why didn't you eat the birds when they came for the worm?" Foxy turned around to see a curious looking creature. "Hi, my name is Ember" the glowing fox introduced herself.

Ember

A Helping Tail

The Great Fire from the sky covered the ground in flowing lava. Many creatures  had perished from the disaster. Ember, as she was come to be known from the Great Eagle of the North, was inside her den when it began. The entrance had collapsed and sealed her inside and kept her safe from most of the fire. The pressure from the lava flow began to force its way inside and Ember began to dig furiously to escape.

The den was inside a strange mountain side. Glowing purple orbs lined the walls and ceiling. It was a hard and smooth surface making it difficult to dig through. The lava broke through and Ember scrambled up the walls digging up the orbs, falling into the lava. She thought if she could make enough orbs falls she could stand on them like a raft and maybe just maybe she could escape on the backs of the purple orbs. But that was not to be true. The orbs began to explode and purple shards and dust filled the cave and lined Ember's coat. The heat was too much as Ember weakened, she passed out, and she fell into the lava flow.

There must be some magic in those purple orbs. Ember awoke laying in the lava. She had become a glowing Ember. She walked out of there on the lava without injury but she was not the same fox as she once was.

A  Magical Encounter

IMG_9687.png

"My name is Amy, for the last time!" The fox yelled.  "I am a fox from the west plains." The two skunks joked and laughed at Amy. "I've never seen a purple fox before." one of the skunks replied. You ain't ever seen a purple anything, the other told his skunky buddy. Amy was anything but a normal fox, she was magical. She was from a group of magical creatures called the Amethosian Foxes. They were born of special purple orbs and had magic in their tails and in their hearts.

Amy could never pronounce Amethyst, so became Amy in the end. A true Amethyst Fox can call upon the winds and tides. There is magic in everything and when taught correctly, an Amethyst can do just about anything! Only problem being, she is the last of her kind and she will have no one to help her with her magic. Amy had travelled for weeks without encountering another fox, let alone one of her kind. That is until she wondered into the Falling Forest.

Tally-Ho! yells a jubilant fox as he jumps from a tree branch and into a lake below. Creatures around the lake scurry from the splashes of water, one of them being a surprised and shocked purple fox." Whoa! what are you?" the happy fox asked as he swam to the shore. "wait, wait, don't tell me. You're an Amethyst! there was awe in the jubilant fox's voice. The purple fox stood there, cleaning herself off trying not to show her excitement.

"My name is Timber by the way. I'm sorry I splashed ya. It's just there's not anybody ever around to watch out for. I've heard stories about you when I was a pup. I didn't think you were real!" Timber said. The purple fox replied, "I assure you, I am quite real and very much wet, thank you very much. My name is Amy.

Crimson

Passion and Power

IMG_3932.png

Crimson was one of those pups that loved to play. That loved to sleep. That loved to stare up at the stars. That loved... well to do anything that she wanted to do. When Crimson set her mind on to do something she did it with 100% of her heart. To the other foxes, she was either too riled up, too focused, too lazy, or just too darn...darn toot'n!

Momma fox told her that the Old Ones called it passion. A power that drives a fox to greatness. Passion could point a snoot towards any star in the sky and get there if they wanted because they were focused and didn't care what anyone thought. "Passion is power, young pup. You can do anything you want and no one can tell you different." Momma fox said with a smile.

Crimson closed her eyes and dreamed of great adventures and wondrous lands that she would travel to. She fell asleep to the words her momma told her, she could do anything because passion is power.

Little did Crimson know that these would be the last words she would ever hear her momma say to her. For the Great Fire From the Sky was upon them.

Cerulean

The Great Floof

IMG_0950.png

A wise old owl once hooted about the day when the return of the Great Floof would come. A Floof so big and powerful, that this fox would bring together all creatures of the lands and command them against the uprighters. Demons that walked on there hind legs and destroyed the grounds they walked on. Multiplying and laying waste like a scourge. Building great devices and robbing the lands of its riches. Not to mention their love to feast on all creatures of the lands.

The Great Floof did return, however  Cerulean did not feel like a leader. Cerulean was quiet and kept to himself mostly. As his floor grew larger and larger, he feared he was the one the great owl had predicted would command a great army against the Uprighters. As the others began noticing his floof, Cerulean decided that he would leave in the dead of night far from his family, alone, than become a great leader.

Cerulean took one last look around before he left. Heavy hearted but peaceful in his floof. It was just before day break, that is when the great fire from the sky began.

Shadow grew up with many brothers and sisters. All of which laughed and sang while playing and digging. Shadow, however never really played with his siblings. He was always last to supper, momma had to come and get him with a boop on his snoot. Shadow got his name not just because of his dark coat but because he just followed everyone around, not saying a word.  Turns out shadow couldn't hear very well and wasn't able to speak.

Not to say Shadow didn't have any skills, he was an excellent hunter. He was as quiet as the summer breeze. Shadow quickly became the one everyone wanted to have in their hunting party. Shadow showed everyone that not all disabilities disable... that disabilities enhance other traits. Shadows smile was as large as the moon and his eyes were eagle sharp. Shadow had become the cunningest fox in the Skulk.

Kindness is a Superpower

No one knows what happens north of the great ridge. The only access way is always covered with ice and snow. So very cold even for the fluffiest of foxes. The great mystery of the north would soon become known to all when the Great Fire in the Sky began.

Water began to flood the fields of the bottom lands. Ice from the north began to melt as fire reign down from above. Giant sheets of steam filled the air as ice water and lava met. Lave grew hard over time and the low lands became lakes. The great ridge became grassy and filled with flowers. That is when a sweet little fox with flowers in her floof made her way into the low lands.

Spark

The Charge for Change

Fire fell like rain, the rivers turned to fire, and the sky lit up with lightening. Screams filled the ears of one brave fox, running toward the tree line. "Help us somebody!" the little cries rang out. All the while, the others ran for shelter in their dens, two pups stranded on a boulder surrounded by lava flow. The brave fox shouted, "I'm going for you!" as he leaped into the air and landed on the boulder. "I can jump far enough but with only one of you at a time, so when I land be ready to go!" He told the frightened pups. The brave fox jumped with the pup to safety. "Now run to your den!" He shouted. He turned to get a running start before the lava flow became wider. "Hold on kid, I'm coming for you!" he reassured the pup. And so he ran as fast as he could and jumped higher than ever to make the boulder. That is when he was struck by a lightening bolt and landed on the boulder unconscious.

The brave fox awoke to a scared little pup booping his snoot frantically. "What happened?" he asked barely awake. A large crash woke the fox up and immediately shook the cobwebs from his head. He went to grab the pup but the pup coward. "No time to be scared, trust me. We can make it!" He grabbed the pup and he jumped!

The brave fox woke up under a tree about half a mile away from the boulder. Where am I? Where is the kid? How did I get here? The brave fox didn't notice the quietness from the storm ending. Dazed, he walked by a small puddle of water and noticed a strange reflection staring back at him. Why am I yellow and glowing? What he is about to find out is when he jumped, he was like a lightning bolt and shot across the forest. Sadly, the pup didn't survive.

Foxy The Golden

A Lost Pup No More

IMG_4125.png

Foxy, left alone to survive as a pup has found her family. Her best friends and her purpose in this world. She found a special power hidden in her snoot. The Crinkle! A powerful gift that spreads smiles and heart warming aws to all those who see it.  Foxy has the power to stop fighting, to stop hate, to stop sadness, all in her Crinkle.

Foxy may not be the most powerful or the strongest or even the bravest, but she is the one filled with the most love in her heart. And that makes her the most wonderful of all.

United!

This Tribe, This Family

IMG_6726.png

The strongest of families are not always born of blood but born of resolve. The ones we choose to invite into our lives are forever linked in the great Floof of life. Loved ones lost can never be replaced because they live with us forever. They leave their paw prints on our souls like a star in the sky. A direction to follow when you're feeling lost and alone.

You are all my family and you are all my many roads home. I will never be lost or alone. My greatest strengths come when we are together. Accomplishing great feats with the promise of a better world. The time of the Uprights have come and gone. We are still here. We will not forget the world we once lived in or the sacrifices given during the Great Fire from the Sky.

As the Elders have always predicted, the Great Floof has returned to free the lands and a pup will come from grounds to reign in harmony with the sky and peace will be known for all creatures.

This Tribe, this family, is the hope for us all.
